Wednesday Nights in Lent, Saint Mark’s Community Hall & Church - February 21, 28, March 6, 13, 20 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
What if a bunch of composers – women and men from Asia, South America, Europe, the Middle East, and North America – each set to music one of the world's most well-known stories? Join us on Wednesday nights in Lent to hear Christ’s Passion as brought to voice (literally!) by this diverse range of artists. Did I mention they were Lutheran, Catholic, Buddhist, Jewish, Anglican, Agnostic, and Eastern Orthodox? Curious, right? Hear and learn significant elements and excerpts from the work of these composers, and deepen your Lenten experience. We’ll begin with a simple soup supper, and end with Holy Eucharist in the church.
Having stepped through two careers in music as a performer and teacher, and with students spanning the globe, longtime Saint Marks parishioner Erik Forrester created a coaching and strategy practice for people experiencing significant change and transitions. He has left the world of Music with a capital M , and embraced his passion for music with a small m! “I love teaching and guiding people to discover, embrace, and enjoy the worlds of music often left out of our normal conversations. I am simply very curious!” You may have already heard him on the occasional Sunday, communicating through his first joy, percussion!
